Spell for Protection from Road Rage

Protection from Road Rage

Road rage seems ever more common on our highways and roadways today. To protect yourself from an outbreak of road rage—either from another, or in yourself—prepare (or purchase) a small, white drawstring pouch.

Place hematite, bloodstone, and crushed rue in a small bowl.

Extend your hands over the bowl and form a triangle with your thumbs and fore-fingers. Visualize a protective beam of energy descending into your crown. Focus this beam through the triangle to the bowl, and say:

Let the rage of others

and the rage of my own,

Become harmlessly grounded by herb and by stone.

Empty the contents of the bowl into the pouch, and place them in your car.
By Karen Follett

You know - Rue is one of those herbs I did not know much about until one day one of my herbal books gave me a "cure" for fleas on my dog. Jack, bless his soul, came with a nasty case of fleas from the shelter. We tried everything. Then I came along this rinse of vinegar and rue that actually worked! and from then on he was flea free.

How to create your own magical mirror with water.

The Magic of Water

How to create your own magical mirror with water?

Water is simple yet powerful. When used magically, it can reflect truth, wishes, even the future.Water is an incredible substance. It can be frozen, vaporised or, more commonly, is a beautiful silvery liquid. In its many forms water is heavenly, cascading down a waterfall, trickling in a stream, billowing as clouds, casting rainbows, spattering cool rain. Water is the sea, huge icebergs, dark thunderclouds and glaciers. Imagine these qualities of water and sense the magic. If you can feel that, then you can take a small amount of the Earth's water for yourself and charge it up for magic.

A magical water mirror can help you in many ways. Apart from instilling a sense of peace and achievement, it can also help you to see into the future, to find answers to deep questions about yourself and your life. Mirrors have been used in magic for aeons but, before reflective glass was invented, the only mirror was pure water. You can now return to this spiritual form of magic.

As with any mirror, your water mirror will reflect. It will reflect magically though; you will not see your reflection, you will see magical possibilities. All writings on mirrors through the ages, if based on fact, will agree that what you see must be interpreted carefully. It is wise to bear this in mind before you begin. Do not worry, your mirror will not be vague and useless.

The images are powerful and accurate but you must not follow them blindly as though they are the only possibilities in your life. The Universe just doesn't work that way. When constructing any magical artifact some practitioners warn that new objects should not be used because they are sterile. These people also warn that old objects should not be used because they contain too many past associations or vibrations. Such advice may safely be ignored when working with water mirrors. Water is older than Mankind (it's even found on distant planets) and is far more powerful than the container in which it is placed. So when choosing a container, simply choose a dish-like object that appeals to you and which is capable of holding a depth of about two centimeters of water.

Once you have chosen a dish it should be used solely for this purpose. This is simply to help affirm in your mind that it is now a truly magical object and not, say, an ashtray. Each time you want to use your mirror, you create it anew with fresh water.

Have some matches ready at one side. Set the dish in a quiet place on a level surface and subdue the light: if possible, it should be quite dark. Sit and look at the dish for a moment, consider its properties, know how it will provide magic for you. Think on this for a while, calmly, then pass your hands over it. Become close to the dish, know that it is strange to you but do not let it feel alien or peculiar: become familiar with it.

Taking your dish to the tap and filling it up is too crude. A more elegant method is to gently collect some water in a jug or cup and slowly pour this into your dish. Tap-water is fine and will work just as well as rainwater or mineral water. All water, no matter how polluted, contains the pattern for fifth-dimensional magic. As you slowly pour the water into your dish, listen to the quiet sound it makes, smell its cool dampness. Become familiar with the water now, know its feel, sense its magic. When you have a satisfactory level of water put the remainder to one side and sit quietly. At no time should you try to rush magical workings.

It is of primary importance that you relax, calm down. Even if there is an urgent and despairing situation on your mind, magic needs freedom. By letting go of the problem momentarily and entering a peaceful state you will achieve more.

Once you feel peaceful and expectant you are ready to ignite the mirror. This is a magical way of switching it on, ready for use.

Take two matches and break the phosphorus head off (this makes it a piece of wood, rather than a man-made match). Use the other match to light the tiny piece of wood. When it is burning properly, the tip of the wood black, dip the end into the water. The moment it sizzles out, your mirror is activated.

Ensure the wood does not remain in the dish and, from now until the end of your magical working, do not touch the water.

Look into the mirror. Depending on how much light there is you may see your reflection. Whatever you see, look deeper. Look into the water, beyond it. You are looking around a corner in time.

Water is diffusing time and space for you, letting you see secrets from you own life. Sudden images may appear; observe them but do not chase them. Never try to force an image. The secret of successful water scrying is simply learning to look without trying to create. Stare into the water's depths and images will come.

Once you have practised this for a while you can begin to direct your mirror in practical ways. Whenever you are trying to look into the future remember that you are seeing either the most likely future, or a warning about your future. Nothing is written in the universe and, although Fate can guide, You have the power to change Your life. Even if you see an undesirable future, this might never come to pass if You change some aspect of Yourself.

The mirror can help you in all worldly matters but is more effective when used to look within yourself: it is from within the Soul that all true answers come.Whenever you have completed work with the mirror, touch the water to deactivate the magic. The water should then be poured away. Store the dish separately, away from other people's influences, treat it with respect as a magical object.Water is Nature's most powerful tool. When used magically it is one of our greatest assets. Look into your water mirror and know that what you see is truth; you look into your heart and glimpse your Soul.

Spell to Strengthen the Witch Within

This is a time of the rebirth of the root cultures of many peoples. Ancient wisdoms that were lost orobscured by the power shifts of history are now cominginto light through many channels. Native people arediscovering their rituals, their myths, their shamans. The advances oft echnology are adding to this wave of discovery in many ways, such as through media and communication(take the Internet for instance). The image of the witch is at the root of our cultural past. To embrace and affirm this aspect of ourselves is to tap the power of tradition, longevity, and cellular memory. Once we understand ourselves, harmonys ets in.

In preparing for your spell, first do some serious thinking about just what the image of the witch means to you. Make a list of all her qualities, her powers, her names, how she looks, what she wears, thinks, feels, etc. See her in your mind's eye with as much clarity and detail as possible. This spell should be cast three times, at the new, full, and dark of the month.

Ingredients:

Large piece of parchment paper

Pen

Two purple candles

Moon Oil

Power incense

A small moonstone

Arrange your altar. Carve moons into your candles and anoint them with oil. Anoint yourself as well, on brow, heart, and hands. Seat yourself comfortably and light the candles, saying:

"With this flame, I awaken the Witch within me."

Light the incense. Close your eyes and breathe deeply for a while, relax, and let go. Bathe yourself and your aura in white light. Keep breathing deeply and slowly as you begin to sway and weave, letting your body move into a circular motion. Empty yourself of all distractions and anxieties. When you feel flowing and peaceful, let your imagination fill up with images of your inner Witch. Take up the parchment and pen and make a sketch of her (don't worry about style or quality; the simpler the better).Write your impressions and ideas beneath the drawing. Set this up between the candles so that it is facing you. Take the moonstone and clasp it to your heart. Keep breathing and weaving as you fill yourself with the image on the parchment.Draw the Witch image into yourself, see her multiplied a thousand-fold, vibrating in every cell of your body. Repeat the following incantation three times:

"I am willing to be different and strong

I am willing to be different and beautiful

I am willing to be different and free

I am willing to be different from patriarchy

For this difference

Is the same

Sameness

With the Non-Linear World of Magick

The Goddess

Her forces

My dreams

The moon

My feelings

My creativity

My passion

My deep love

Of all creation...

And the only conforming

I need to do

Is Forming Creation

For I am form

And I am forming

To universal law

And therefore

Must survive...

And even though

I may at times

Feel alone

And misunderstood

I will remember

That I have sisters and brothers out there

Who are learning to be free

Like me

And that I am not alone

But all One

And that free women and men

Were respected

And loved

And will be again

And will be again

And will beI will it to be

I will it to be

And so doth it be

Forever

And ever

So be it

Blessed be"

As you repeat this chant, let your words flow rhythmically as you weave and sway, let your voice create melody. Improvise, make new words if you feel inspired. When you feel complete, slip your parchment beneath the altar cloth. Give thanks to the Goddess and God and snuff out the candles. The moonstone is to carry at all times. Keep it in your pocket, under your pillow, or wear it in a pouch.Whenever you feel the need, hold the stone and rub it with your thumb in a circular motion. Think or say:

"I am safe I am me All is well Blessed be"

Tell no one of this spell until it has come to

fullness. Even as you feel your powers strengthen, it may be best to maintain silence. Be discreet about sharing your magick.

Kitchen Tips - PART 2

For good luck hang a "kitchen witch" doll in your kitchen to oversee and bless your magickal workings. You can purchase one or make your own.

Turn a ladder into steps for success by painting the ladder in brightcolors and adding plants as decorative objects. Paint magickal symbols under the rungs to help your prosperity (and plants) grow. As the plants grows, so does your prosperity.

Grow an aloe plant in your kitchen. To soothe burns and scrapes, gentlycut off a mature, fleshy stalk, thanking the plant for its sacrifice, and squeeze the gel from inside the leaf onto the wounded area. The aloe plant has magickal properties as well--it also guards the cook againstfood preparation accidents that can be very nasty. When using aloe gel in the kitchen, dab some onto major appliances, windows, doors, andtools to safeguard them as well.

When you purchase fresh herbs or gather them from your garden, cut the bottoms off and place the herbs in a nice vase in your kitchen. This not only brightens up the room, it adds fragrance, keeps the fresh herbs longer, and has the added benefit of reminding you to use them in your dishes.

If you are having trouble following a recipe or are feeling generally"out of it," take a whiff of rosemary. his herb helps to promote mental clarity and improve memory.

Sew herbs and magickal powders into the lining of your drapes. Placepackets of herbs or powders under throw rugs.

A quartz crystal placed on or near the stove when cooking makes food taste better.

Copper molds can be hung on the kitchen walls to lend their rich colors. Since copper is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, these molds also bring love vibrations into the kitchen.

Wash all the dishes every night if you work with faerie magick. The fairies don't like dirt and they won't let you sleep peacefully until the kitchen is clean!

Bells or wind chimes hung from the doors guard against intruders andstagnant energy. Hang them where the air currents can ring them. They will set up movement in the air and clear the psychic energy of your home.

Sieves, sifters, and colanders hung or placed around the kitchen for protective purposes will keep the kitchen secure.

A kitchen witch bottle can be constructed to protect your food from contamination. Put three needles, three nails, and three pins into ajar. Fill the jar with salt, seal it tightly, vigorously shake ninetimes and drip red candle wax over the seal. Then place it in the cupboard where it won't be seen.

If you wish to perfect your execution of a recipe, copy it in red ink. Lay this on a flat surface in the kitchen. On top, place a red candle in a holder and light the candle. Let it burn down completely before you try the recipe. As it burns visualize yourself cooking the dish successfully.

When you burn food, cut yourself, drop pots and pans, or experience arash of accidents in your kitchen, this could indicate the need for a cleansing. Before eating, place your hands on either side of the food and send energy to the food through visualization. Receive its energy back and then enjoy.

In setting the table, put the salt on first, and take it off last thing after the meal. The salt will guard the food and the diners. While dining with others, pass the salt with a smile. Pass items clockwise around the table to bless them with positive vibrations and ensure that they are healthy.

Prior to eating any liquid with a spoon (such as soup or porridge), stir the bowl's contents clockwise three times, then withdraw the spoon and enjoy.Turn your beverage glass clockwise three times before drinking to bless the contents.Whenever you make a toast, be sure that the glasses clink. If not, thet oast won't be heard by the higher forces.

Always leave a morsel or two on your plate, for tradition says that theywho clean their plates will know only poverty.

The first time you use a new set of silverware, make a wish. Visualize the wish every time you lift a fork or spoon and the wish may come true.

For unity, have all those sharing the meal drink from the same cup. Decorate foods and beverages with unique toothpicks, umbrellas, stirrers, and the like whose color or imagery represents your goal; the item can then be carried later as an amulet or charm to keep that energy going.

Choose a bowl, plate, or placemat whose color or imagery represents your magickal goal.

Arrange the food on the plate or platter in the form of a symbol to which you can relate while eating, such as a smile for joy. Cut food into a symbolic image, such as a toast house that you consumewhile looking for a new residence.

**Everyone manages to collect plastic grocery bags. Instead of stuffing them in a crowded drawer, fold and pack them into an empty tissue boxcovered in pretty self-stick paper. Then pull out as needed.

Magical Kitchen & Household Tips

All purpose sifted flour is excellent for attracting money. Take alittle pinch and spread it somewhere dark... under your kitchen counter,in the back of a cupboard, or under the sink.

Running out of salt supposedly foretells a loss of health or wealth. Always keep an extra box of salt that you never use on a high shelf to help ensure good fortune.

Fill a small jar with alfalfa and deposit it in the food cupboard. As long as it remains there, the family will never know hunger.

Use buttons, change, safety pins, or toothpicks in a jar to work onabundance and prosperity spells. Add an item each day to increase your prosperity.

Olive oil is a good substitute for any kind of anointing of candles and great for mixing with oils and powders to bless and anoint surfaces.

A clove of garlic sitting on the sink board draws illness away from thefamily. Don't eat it; instead throw it away every month and replace it with a new one.

Braids of garlic, onions, or peppers make a lovely decoration for your kitchen and also ward off negativity.

An onion on your kitchen windowsill will absorb ill will. When it starts to decay, replace it and throw it away. Do not eat it under any circumstances!

Leaded-glass crystal sun-catchers hung in a sunny kitchen window are excellent protective devices.

Chili pepper seeds are wonderful for protective magick and repelling.Wash them, let them dry out, and then place them in a little glass jar with a lid. Bless your seeds in any way you wish. You can even make a label for your jar that reads "Magickal Pepper Seeds" or whatever you like. You can use the seeds to banish negativity from your home whenever you feel the need. There are two methods for this:1. Sprinkle a few seeds around your kitchen or home and then vacuum orsweep them out the back door.2. Place some seeds in a mortar and ground them to a powder. Sprinkle the powder where needed and the proceed to vacuum or sweep up. Discardout your back door.

When sweeping, remember to do so towards the fireplace, if you have one. If not, sweep in any direction except towards the front door. If you ignore this warning, you might remove your house's luck.

Take two needles, make an equal-armed cross with them and place the cross in a broom. Stand the broom behind a door and it will guard your home. When standing a broom in the corner, put its bristles up, handle to the floor. This not only ensures that the bristles will last longer, it also brings good luck.

All household work--from scrubbing stains in the kitchen sink to swabbing the floor with a mop to polishing wood furniture--should bedone with clockwise motions. This practice imbues your work, and the object you're cleaning, with positive energy.

Next time it rains, hangone of your dish rags outside to receive the liquid blessings. Or, buryone outdoors by the light of the full moon. Both actions are thought to be lucky.

Salt water left out in the center of a room all night will absorb negativity. Wash it away with flowing water the next morning. If you areon a septic tank, either pour the water into the woods or into a body ofrunning water.

A Corn Moon Ritual

from Llewellyn's Spell a day -

A Corn Moon Ritual

Native Americans and early settlers called the August Full Moon the Corn Moon.

It was a time of giving thanks to the Earth and feasting. Corn was the focus of early harvest celebrations, as it was considered to be the seed of seeds and the giver of life. All the products from corn can be considered holy. Cornmeal, pollen, husks, and ears of corn were all used in fertility and prosperity magic. Corn Moon magic should be a simple ritual of giving thanks to Mother Earth. In doing so, you’ll create positive karma that will return blessings to you.

On the night of the Corn Moon, stand outside in a field if possible. Carry an earthenware dish filled with cornmeal. Raise it to the Full Moon, then lower it to the Earth. Solemnly sprinkle the corn meal on the ground and speak the following words:

From seed to plant,

From plant to blossom,

From blossom to harvest,

I thank you, Mother Earth.

When done, be aware of the August night as the Moon casts a mellow glow over a land of plenty. Listen to the katydid scratching at the darkness. Smell the ripeness of summer’s end. And silently thank the ancient ones who gave us corn, the symbol of life itself.

By: James Kambos

The reason I really wanted to post this is that we need to be more aware of what mother earth gives to us. We take take take the fruits that this earth offers, but we never give back. One time I attended a talk given by a native american and she was saying that when you go on your nature walk and you see something and pick up and take it home, no matter how trivial it seems to you, say a rock for example, you should always have something in you pocket to give back, she recommended tobacco.
So next time you eat that fruit or veggie, pick that flower or even take a walk on a dirt road, remember mother nature and give her a thank you.
