Magic from the Rain

Witches have always known the special meaning of nature's acts.

They are warnings, blessings and magic guides to our living in the world around us. Rain is a special gift from the sky and its power should be used wisely. Try never to shelter yourself from its fall, but rather accept the rain as we should accept live with all of its trials and blessings.

* Rain while the sun shines is a healing rain. Catch and store it in blue glass. Use the water for all manner of healing magic. Place in the bath for an overall body cleaning.

* The blessing of fairies is upon anyone who catches rain in a silver spoon after the rain has bounced off a flat stone. Place some of this water on any object that is frequently misplaced. Keys are always a good choice.

* Place midnight rain of a New Moon on the third eye to bring visions and see future events.

* The first rain gathered in May is symbolic of May Day dew and holds much power. It is used when very special favors are needed. Do not gather this rain in a metal container or its power will be lost. A glass or wood container would do much better.
*When rain runs off a gravestone, gather carefully and use with caution.

*Rain gathered during a thunderstorm holds much energy and can be used to enhance spells and potions. But be aware that the energy does not last long and the spell should be completed before three days and three nights have passed or the rain water will be of little use.

* House plants enjoy the outdoor rain - this cleanses their leaves and helps to purify the indoor air when they are brought back in the home. This is especially good to do when you are in need of a clear mind and strong thought.

* Jewelry, charms and other objects can be purified by standing in the rain, facing west and tossing the object into the air, three times, catching it in your hands each time.

* The sound of the rain carries the voices of the water spirits. Listen to the sound of the rain and enjoy the gifts of the undines. They will speak to you of love and friends. The wise also realize that rain is just one aspect of nature. We should look to the wind, trees, lightning, fire, stones, and other forms of nature's expression for clues to the magic of the world.

Spell to Strengthen the Witch Within

This is a time of the rebirth of the root cultures of many peoples. Ancient wisdoms that were lost orobscured by the power shifts of history are now cominginto light through many channels. Native people arediscovering their rituals, their myths, their shamans. The advances oft echnology are adding to this wave of discovery in many ways, such as through media and communication(take the Internet for instance). The image of the witch is at the root of our cultural past. To embrace and affirm this aspect of ourselves is to tap the power of tradition, longevity, and cellular memory. Once we understand ourselves, harmonys ets in.

In preparing for your spell, first do some serious thinking about just what the image of the witch means to you. Make a list of all her qualities, her powers, her names, how she looks, what she wears, thinks, feels, etc. See her in your mind's eye with as much clarity and detail as possible. This spell should be cast three times, at the new, full, and dark of the month.

Ingredients:

Large piece of parchment paper

Pen

Two purple candles

Moon Oil

Power incense

A small moonstone

Arrange your altar. Carve moons into your candles and anoint them with oil. Anoint yourself as well, on brow, heart, and hands. Seat yourself comfortably and light the candles, saying:

"With this flame, I awaken the Witch within me."

Light the incense. Close your eyes and breathe deeply for a while, relax, and let go. Bathe yourself and your aura in white light. Keep breathing deeply and slowly as you begin to sway and weave, letting your body move into a circular motion. Empty yourself of all distractions and anxieties. When you feel flowing and peaceful, let your imagination fill up with images of your inner Witch. Take up the parchment and pen and make a sketch of her (don't worry about style or quality; the simpler the better).Write your impressions and ideas beneath the drawing. Set this up between the candles so that it is facing you. Take the moonstone and clasp it to your heart. Keep breathing and weaving as you fill yourself with the image on the parchment.Draw the Witch image into yourself, see her multiplied a thousand-fold, vibrating in every cell of your body. Repeat the following incantation three times:

"I am willing to be different and strong

I am willing to be different and beautiful

I am willing to be different and free

I am willing to be different from patriarchy

For this difference

Is the same

Sameness

With the Non-Linear World of Magick

The Goddess

Her forces

My dreams

The moon

My feelings

My creativity

My passion

My deep love

Of all creation...

And the only conforming

I need to do

Is Forming Creation

For I am form

And I am forming

To universal law

And therefore

Must survive...

And even though

I may at times

Feel alone

And misunderstood

I will remember

That I have sisters and brothers out there

Who are learning to be free

Like me

And that I am not alone

But all One

And that free women and men

Were respected

And loved

And will be again

And will be again

And will beI will it to be

I will it to be

And so doth it be

Forever

And ever

So be it

Blessed be"

As you repeat this chant, let your words flow rhythmically as you weave and sway, let your voice create melody. Improvise, make new words if you feel inspired. When you feel complete, slip your parchment beneath the altar cloth. Give thanks to the Goddess and God and snuff out the candles. The moonstone is to carry at all times. Keep it in your pocket, under your pillow, or wear it in a pouch.Whenever you feel the need, hold the stone and rub it with your thumb in a circular motion. Think or say:

"I am safe I am me All is well Blessed be"

Tell no one of this spell until it has come to

fullness. Even as you feel your powers strengthen, it may be best to maintain silence. Be discreet about sharing your magick.

am I a really a witch?

I decided to address this today, since someone had asked if I really was. I would say for lack of a better term, I am. I was kind of born into it. Different family members exhibiting different "gifts" . Back then healers were called Pow-wow Doctors, there was crazy cousin Miriam, she had the special "sight" from God. My grandmother who did some wierd crazy thing over my son when he was little, which did heal him, she said he was liver grown, whatever that meant. Now that I am older, I realize all these special gifts, could of been called "witchcraft" back then.

Personally, I am into herbs, herbal healing, Reiki and crystals. I seem to have a way with spells and I know I lot of different paths, which I kind of pick and choose from and have developed my own little path. I would not call myself a wiccan, so for lack of a better term, I call myself a witch.

I usually try to celebrate the sabbats and changes of seasons. So next time you see me dancing around the fire, you can say - hey there is Zoey - she's a witch.

Good Evening

Hello world, bright blessings - let me introduce myself, I am Zoey Kastledorf, long time witch. My passion is spell casting, but I love other aspects of witchcraft. It brings me a peace and understanding of the world, something I need to enforce in myself right now. I started this blog to share spells, thoughts and to help bring a peace to those who read it.

I hope you enjoy my future ramblings.

For now I just wish you peace and love
