Good Luck Spell

It's best to perform this one while the moon is waxing.

For this spell you'll need a candle to represent yourself in whatever color you think appropriate, a gray candle, a black candle and an orange candle. Light the candle that represents yourself and say: ' This is me, me in all things'.

Light the black candle and say: 'This is all the bad luck that has dragged my footsteps. Trouble, disappointments and tears are here. This bad luck now leaves me forever.'

Light the gray candle and say: 'All that was bad is neutralized. All my bad luck is dissolved.'

Light the orange candle and say: 'This is the energy coming myway, to get my life moving and speed up the change.'

Sit quietly for a while and visualize the negative energies being whisked into the gray candle and dissolved into empty nothingness. Visualize the orange candle drawing good energy and good luck towards you, see the air stirring about with possibilities and opportunities. Let the candles burn down completely (take the usual safety precautions) .

Magickal Cleansing and Lifting a "Curse"

If you have been suffering from a series of mishaps or bad luck, there are things you can do to turn it around. The first thing I advise isto clean the cobwebs out - literally!

Clean up your room, your officespace, your whole house if you can. Do as much of the following as you can: Get rid of clutter. It develops an atmosphere of stagnation and prevents movement, both literally and symbolically.

Visualize yourself Turning out all the unwanted energies from your life, ridding yourself of negativity and doubt and fear.

Open up all your windows (and doors, if possible). It's best to do this on a sunny day, naturally. Throw them wide open to receive the cleansing and blessings of the sun and wind.

Wash down as many washable surface areas as you can with some kind of liquid on which a blessing has been performed. You can use an elaborate ritual blessing or something quick like 'Lady and Lord, bless this water for purification, protection and love. 'Suggestions: water in which some chopped-up lemons have been steeped overnight, or rosemary infusion; either one smells good as well as adding a nice protective touch.

Next, cleanse the area with a purifying incense; you can use ablend, or one of the following alone: cedar, frankincense, copal, gum arabic. If you can't stand the smell of incense, use an essential oil burner, carried on a tray or in a baking dish to guard your hands. Use purifying and protective oils; I like a few drops each of sandalwood, frankincense and myrrh, and a drop of lemon. Walk through the entire area, holding the incense/burner up so that its fragrance penetrates every corner. I sometimes like to sprinkle blessed salt water about, and to set white candles burning merrily in every room (do this *after* closing the doors and windows!).You can add a chant while sprinkling/fumigating/lighting; I like 'Banished be, negativity!' ; it's short but to the point.

Finally, when the area smells all clean and holy, looks clean and is blazing with light, sitdown and enjoy. Eat something, preferably something bready; you'll need it after all that work, and it'll help ground you in your newly cleansed space. Once all this is over and you've recovered from the work, cast a few spells to get things moving, and to pull some good fortune your way... such as a Good Luck Spell.

Wishing Herbs

CALENDULA -- Bits of these dried flowers under the bedare said to make one's dreams come true.

DANDELION -- When you need a special wish granted, write it out in Dove's Blood Ink on parchment, make three folds in the paper and place it in a red flannel bag. Fill the bag with dandelion, sew it closed with red thread, and wear it around the neck for three days. This spell is not recommended for acquiring money or property, but is most effective when used inconjunction with situations in which you already have something which may be in danger of being lost or taken from you by outside influences.

JOB'S TEARS -- Place seven of these in your pillow and sew it up to make a wish come true within seven days.

MUSTARD SEED -- To make a wishing bag of your own for a particular objective, into a drawstring pouch placeone rabbit's foot, five new nails, nine mustard seed, and thirteen pennies. Anoint the bag with Mojo Oil and rub it between the palms when you make the wish.

PEONY -- Write your wish on a piece of parchment paperand sprinkle on it a bit of peony. Roll the paper upand seal it with melted red wax from a candle. Secrete the talisman in your home as you repeat these words:

GRANT ME TODAY A WISH, A LARGE WISH, A SMALL WISH, A TINY WISH, A HUGE WISH. GROWING HERE AND GROWING THERE. GROWING SLOWLY EVERYWHERE. GRANT ME MY WISH SO THAT I MAY REJOICE.

Every third day change the hiding place of your amulet, repeating the incantation given. After your wish has been granted, destroy the token by burning.

QUEEN'S ROOT -- If you dare, hold this herb in your fists and say "Sader, Prostas, Solaster" nine times quickly, toss the herb over the opposite shoulder, and within a fortnight an infernal succubus will be transported into your vision by nubian slaves who will obey your every wish.

SANDALWOOD -- To fulfill a secret wish write it on a square of parchment with Dove's Blood Ink (unless it is a wish for the destruction of another's plan or a desire to bring harm to an enemy, in which case Dragon's Blood Ink is used). Place the wish beneath some sandalwood which you burn as incense. As you light it, say: "Adonai, Elohim, Elohim, Adonai."

SEA WRACK -- For quick fulfillment of a wish, mix a spoonful of sea wrack with some John the Conqueror Incense and burn it at the same time as you burn a purple candle under which you have placed your wish written on parchment.

VERVAIN -- Steep this herb in water and add to your scrub water to make your dreams or wishes come true. The carrying or wearing of this herb places one underthe protective influences of the love goddess. It is also considered a protection from enchantments being put upon the possessor.

WISH BEANS -- These can be used in a number of ways. Place one in a red bag and rub the bag as you make your wish. Carry the bag until your wish is attained. Or hold the bean in your hand, make your wish, and toss the bean into running water.

It worked!

Last night I did the Spell for Forgiveness in the backyard. First I opened the circle, then lit a pink candle and some calming incense, I chanted the spell several times, and I felt so much better. I could feel my anger releasing. Everytime I start thinking about the incident I chant the spell again, where ever I am and I go back to the moment last night in the yard and immediately feel better.

I sincerely dislike when I get a incident gets caught in my mind and I dwell upon it. It is not a healthy thing to do. Also, Anger is not a good thing. Forgiveness is a gift of gold.

If you want to see the Spell of Forgiveness look at my previous blog.

Thanks, and have a Blessed Day.

Spell for forgiveness

Talk about the universe giving you something you need. I thankful for the following spell that appeared in my email today.

Last night I was at a Nelson\Mellencamp\Dylan concert. Safe to say that it was 11,000 full of overaged hippies, me included. I went to get a pretzel at the break after Willie Nelson, I wanted to take a short cut across the field, I have arthritis in both knees so walking stadium steps gets to be hard. Well, I went down the wrong aisle, so there were 4 people sitting at the bottom walkway and I was going to walk through and the guy on the end puts his cane up to block me, yes his cane; and they all start yelling at me to go back. I was appalled, I could not believe these people who were wearing their peace shirts and being nasty at the same time. So I go one aisle up and say excuse me please to this nice couple with a little girl and they look at me and put there feet up to block me, and I say please excuse me, it difficult for me to walk up steps can I please pass, they say no. So my ass is alot bigger than there ankles and I push through, I get to the end of the aisle and another old hippie in tye dye sits down to block my way so I climb over the stadium seat and fall through the chair hurting my leg. I am so upset with mankind at that moment. All I did through the night was cry at the hate I felt. But first thing this morning this spell is in my email - I intend to say it over and over today and do a ritual tonight.

Please remember, my dear readers, that to make the world a better place we must love everyone and show love to everyone. I probably shouldn't have pushed through, I should of just walked back up, I mean either way my legs were going to hurt, now I just have a big bruise to nurse.

So much for the peace and love generation - I guess they grew up to a world of hate.

Spell for Forgiveness

July 15th,

At times, anger becomes a part of our lives. It can be very easy to allow that anger to remain within and fester into a dark void inside ourselves. If allowed to remain there, it can even grow to become a dominant force in our lives. It is said the only true cure for anger is forgiveness, forgiveness for whoever or whatever brought about the anger in the first place. It is not easy to forgive. It takes great strength and conviction. Some positive meditation time is also optimal.

With a pink candle for emotional healing and some soothing incense, the following chant to the Lady is a good starting point.

After loss, there is gain.

After pain, there is healing.

Let the anger I hold be healed

From within and without

I release my anger toward ________

Anger has no place in my life or power over my heart

All ills are healed, all wrongs forgiven

Let there be peace for now and all time.

So mote it be.

Tree Lore and Remedies

WILLOW: Willow barks active ingredient, salicin, has a strong analgesic effect and was used to make the first aspirin. (Today, salicylates are synthetically produced.) Willow-bark tea may be used to ease aches and pains, but because it acts as a blood thinner (like commercial aspirin), be careful not to drink any before surgery or a tooth extraction. To make the tea, place two tablespoons of willow bark (use the inner bark from a twig; never remove bark from the trunk, as it can kill the tree) into a cup of water and simmer for 20 minutes.

LORE: People once carried a piece of willow with them in order to ease the fear of death. Bark from the tree was often used in funeral pyres.

ROWAN: Mashed apple and ripe red rowanberries can be cooked together with honey and then eaten to cure nagging coughs.

LORE: In Scotland, eating the ripe berries is said to promote longevity, while a necklace of rowan-berries brings good luck to its wearer. A cross of rowan twigs tied with red thread placed in a window was thought to protect a house against storms.

PINE: The antitumor properties of pinecones are currently being studied. But pine-needle tea (recipe below) is already known to be an excellent source of vitamin C. Pine bark also contains compounds called pycnogenols - powerful antioxidants that are more potent than vitamins E and C. Pycnogenol supplements can be bought at health-food stores.

LORE: Pine trees were known as the keepers of peace by many native peoples, and gatherings of clans were often sought beneath the pines.

ELM: Slippery-elm lozenges, available commercially, can soothe sore throats and coughs. Tea made from four teaspoons of the inner bark simmered for 20 minutes in a cup and a half of water helps to ease upper respiratory problems.

LORE: Druids thought the elm to be a tree associated with elves. B

BIRCH: Betulinic acid, known for its antitumor properties, is made from birch bark. Northern Europeans have long used birch brooms or twigs while in the sauna: The skin is gently flailed with a twig to aid circulation.

LORE: Tying a red ribbon around a birch tree was thought to ward off evil.

HAZEL: Hazelnuts, also known as filberts, are a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids and phosphorus. Herbalists have long recommended that the powdered nuts be mixed with honey and water to help ease chronic coughs.

LORE: Dowsing or divining rods (used by well diggers in the hopes of finding water) were made from hazel wood.

YEW: The cancer remedy Taxol is derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia).

LORE: In Europe, the yew was known as the tree of immortality and trees were planted in graveyards.

HOLLY: Holly bark may be mixed with goldenseal and used to make a tea to ease indigestion. The berries are poisonous and should only be used by a knowledgeable health practitioner.

LORE: The Druids believed that if they decorated their homes with holly in the winter months, beneficial wood spirits would be enticed to enter during snowstorms.

OAK: White-oak bark can be used externally in a wash to treat burns, rashes, insect bites, and inflammations. Boil one-half to two pounds of bark in two quarts of water. Reduce until only one quart of the liquid remains, and apply.

LORE: Oaks were the ancient Western Europeans' favorite trees. Oaks, whose roots go down as deep as the branches grow high, served as a metaphor for the Druid, who believed himself to be firmly rooted in the earth but with his head in the clouds. Houses made of oak were said to last 100 years, and it is believed that King Arthur's round table was made out of oak because of its strength and durability. Acorns were considered lucky charms and were carried for protection, prosperity, and longevity.

Spell to Achieve Clarity and Focus

In order for others to meet our needs, we must first know what we want.

To initiate this process, get a sky-blue candle and some oil of myrrh.

Light the candle and rub your third eye chakra, saying:

By the power of water, I see clearly and divinely. I ask and I seek. My needs are met.

Anoint your throat with the oil, saying:

By the powers of air, I mean what I say. I say what I intend.

Dab some oil on your heart chakra (between the breastbone), and say:

By the power of fire, I know what I desire. I am led by the heart, which joins wisdom with love.

Anoint your midsection with the oil, and say:

By the power of earth, I stick to my dreams. I remain steadfast. I understand what it takes to get me there. So mote it be.

This spell works best under a clear sky, when the Moon is in an air sign.
